Just Installed Vista 64 (Clean) and everything is working great except my combo DVD. The drive can read both CD and DVD. However, when I burn a CD or DVD, it hangs but never comes to a solution. I'm using Nero 7 and the model is a Sony DRU-840a that says its Vista compatible, I checked for firmware or driver updates but there aren't any.

It's detected in Bios and Windows and is scene from everywhere. Tried updating my MB's Bios still didn't help? I would welcome any help that you guys can offer! Here it is the log.

One area that’s seen a lot of progress since 2003 is hardware for CD and DVD ripping and burning. When I bought my G5, it came with a state-of-the-art SuperDrive. Fast forward four years, though, and suddenly that state-of-the-art drive is looking quite antiquated. Sure, drive speeds have increased substantially, but for me, the real problem was dual-layer DVDs.
